Production Notes
"Far From Heaven" is a film that was made in 2002, but holds all of the characteristics found within a classic Hollywood theatrical style and setting. While the true nature of the film was uncharacteristic, the way in which the director, Todd Haynes, choses to recapture this moment in history is very unique. This includes the cinematagraphe, the score and the costume design of the film. He takes some of the classic films of the 1950's and 1940's and adapts their style to fit the new age of cinema, in which it has evovled to. He combines this style with some of the leading actors within the industry today and garnered a very well put-together film.
Original Pitch
A 1950's modern family grows apart from each other as they face the challenges of discrimination and sexuality within an ever-changing environment.
